Our friend Phillip Chambers (pastor of Yellow Creek Baptist Church) wrote the following message of encouragement. I hope it blesses you like it blessed us.
Tom & Rebecca Peck
--------------------------------------
I'm sitting in my office watching my daughters, Caroline and Abigail, play on our snow covered driveway.
You probably have heard how the blood of Jesus will make you white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Well please don't misunderstand this critical point ... the blood of Jesus does not cover our sins like the snow covers the driveway ... instead it washes our sin away as if it was NEVER THERE!!
Psalm 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
So, if the blood of Jesus has been applied to our life and we have been washed clean of our sins,
WHY CANT WE FORGIVE OURSELVES? Are we greater than God? Certainly not.
If you are carrying any guilt from past sin that has been forgiven, LAY IT DOWN!!! Don't touch it anymore. It's not of The Lord.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The devil does not want us to enjoy our freedom and forgiveness ... but child of God we should be rejoicing at the top of our lungs that our sins have been washed away and in Gods eyes, we are white as snow.
Hope this thought makes you feel better like it did me!
May God bless,
Phillip Chambers
